Parsippany is a great place to live and work, but good government is always looking for ways to improve. With a little research and the right leadership, there are dozens of ways that we can make a difference. Here are just a few ideas…
- Organize internships in local government for students or anyone interested in learning more
- Publicize all open committee positions online so that any resident can apply and give back to our community
- Bundle municipal internet and cell phone services, just like we do in our homes, to save upwards of $50,000 (similar to Wayne, NJ – read more)
- Create Council podcasts - we already record Council meetings, we just need to upload the recordings to iTunes
- Turn on those Council video cameras. They’re already installed and ready to go, why not make our Council meetings more accessible?
- Explore the possibility of alternate hours for the Recycling Center or Permits Office so they are more accessible for residents who work during the week
- Create monthly email updates to keep interested residents informed about what’s going on in Parsippany and learn when their input is helpful
