Annelise Catanzaro received endorsement this week from Democrats 2000! This organization supports serious candidates 40 and younger who are pursuing elected office at the local, county, or state level in New Jersey.
“I’m truly honored to have been selected by Dems2000 to be one of their 2009 Recommended Candidates!” said Catanzaro. “A critical component of our campaign in Parsippany has been the young student volunteers who help to get out the vote making phone calls and speaking with voters door-to-door. It’s wonderful to also have support from one of the premier political organizations for younger candidates in NJ. Thank you!”

Reaching out to Parsippany… one door at a time

Over the past month, we’ve been hitting the streets and meeting Parsippany voters. It’s been really fun meeting hundreds of new people over the past few weeks, and with the exception of today, we’ve had beautiful weather to boot!
Going door-to-door has been a great way to unearth new ideas to help make our community better or just make things easier for residents. Here’s are a couple questions/concerns raised by Parsippany residents so far…
How can we make our permits office more accessible?
I spoke with one woman who was frustrated about not being able to make it to the permits office in time. As a quick follow-up to that request, I wanted to point out that you can currently download permit applications online. Here’s a link - www.parsippany.net/tizoning.html#resappinst To further address this concern and make it easier for residents to file permits, we could also consider ways to submit the applications through the web or institute alternate hours once or twice a month.
How can the Township help me “Go Green” in my home?
Another resident was curious about ways Parsippany can help him go green (and save some “green”) in his home. Parsippany has an Environmental Advisory Committee (E.A.C.) who’s purpose is to “provide information, advice and recommendations relating to environmental issues which affect… the Township of Parsippany-Troy Hills.” Why couldn’t the Environmental Advisory Committee also help to provide research and advice for township residents looking to install solar panels or reduce their energy consumption? It would be a great way to utilize the expertise of our E.A.C. members to help residents go green and even save some money on their energy bills, too.
Thanks to all residents who gave their input, ideas, and especially their support! I can’t wait to hit the streets again this week.
