Annelise Catanzaro – A Fresh Voice in Parsippany Politics
“I’m running to lend new energy and a fresh voice to Parsippany’s Township Council.”
Annelise Catanzaro is a fourth generation member of the Parsippany community and has long been committed to involvement in local government.
She is currently serving her third term as chair of Parsippany’s Municipal Alliance Committee which oversees $28,000 in county grant funding and more than 40 teachers and program coordinators. These programs include elementary school Homework Clubs, Peer Leadership programs in both middle schools and support for Project Graduation in the high schools.
Annelise is Director of Business Development at Vertical Health, LLC, a medical communications company based in Montclair, NJ.
She is also a member of Women’s Political Caucus of New Jersey, which is a multi-partisan organization dedicated to increasing the number of elected and appointed women in government.
Annelise first ran for Township Council in 2009. She currently resides in Lake Hiawatha with her husband, Chris and their new puppy, Ranger.
Past Involvement
Annelise attended Parsippany Hills High School, where she was elected President in her junior and senior years at PHHS. After high school, Annelise attended The College of New Jersey. During her time at TCNJ, she was elected student representative on The College’s Board of Trustees and subsequently was elected President of the Student Government Association. As President, Annelise organized a college-wide and eventually statewide advocacy effort for the funding of higher education. As a result of these efforts, Annelise was invited to appear on Steve Adubato’s television series, Caucus: New Jersey, where she interviewed Governor Corzine about his budget decisions. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies and minors in Italian and Women & Gender Studies.
Following graduation, Annelise lived in Rome, Italy, where she worked for an online magazine, InRomeNow.com. Additionally, she has served as the statewide chair for the National Organization for Women’s Conference in 2008, President of Morris County’s NOW Chapter, and Advisor to Parsippany’s Young Democrats.
